1. Learn to Read, Read to Learn

Primary 1-3: Read more 小一至小三:多閱讀

為了提供有利學生學習英語的環境,本校重視培養學生的閱讀習慣,每個課題都配有不同類型和主題的故事書,課程中亦有教授英文拼音,能有效地培養同學對閱讀英文書的興趣及提升同學閱讀英文的能力。

Students are given opportunities to apply English in reading, and writing and plenty of group activities and games during the lessons. Reading is one of the main focuses of the English programme. Students are provided with books on different themes and topics in each unit. In addition, with the learning of phonics and blending of sounds, and ability to read English books is enhanced substantially.

Primary 4-6 小四至小六課程

除了常規的課本教學,小四至小六的學生每星期會有兩節閱讀課,透過閱讀Fiction 和Non-fiction書籍,加強學生的讀、聽、說能力。老師悉心舉辦不同的活動,如培訓英語大使,製作英語節目等等,讓學生多接觸和運用英語。

Besides regular teaching of the textbooks, the curriculum of Primary 4-6 extends further to the reading of fiction and non-fiction. The English teachers spend two lessons every week teaching reading strategies and developing pupils’competence in listening and speaking. The NET also plays the role of training English Ambassadors and English Reporters, in which pupils are provided plenty of exposure to English and authentic experience in using English.

為了營造英語學習語境,並鼓勵學生於課堂外運用英語,英文科著力舉辦多元化的學習活動,以豐富他們的學習經歷,進一步提昇學生學習英語的興趣,並訓練他們讀寫聽說的能力。

In order to provide an English-rich language environment and encourage our students to use English outside classrooms, the English Department has organized various diversified activities. Besides building up their competence in four language skills, we are eager to enrich their learning experience and arouse their interest and motivation in learning English.

3. 電子學習及自主學習
3. E-learning and Self-directed Learning

英文課程中整體滲入電子學習元素,以促進學習和教學進程。學生透過「温習手冊」,培養自主學習能力。英語學習不限於班房上課的時間,我們積極使用電子工具,讓學生能在課外時間學習。以上的電子工具也促使老師能加強和分析同學的學習成效。

We implement e-learning holistically in our English curriculum to enhance the teaching and learning process. Study Guides are distributed to pupils to promote learner independence. Relevant and accessible e-learning resources are employed to support learning during and beyond class time. Notably, online learning is a valuable tool for teachers to effectively reinforce and evaluate the learning of pupils.
